Our General Surgery department treats a wide range of acute and chronic surgical conditions of the digestive system and abdomen, safely and precisely. With minimal disruption and fast recovery as our guiding principles, our range of procedures includes:
- Appendectomy: Emergency removal of the appendix in cases of acute appendicitis.
- Bowel surgery: Treatment of small and large bowel conditions using modern, safe methods.
- Surgical oncology: Specialised removal of malignant tumours of the digestive system, pancreas, liver and stomach.
Emergency & planned surgery
Some conditions, such as acute appendicitis, require immediate, urgent surgical intervention. Chronic or planned conditions, on the other hand, are carefully assessed at our clinic, so a complete diagnostic work-up can be carried out and the optimal treatment path planned.
Personalised oncological care
In cases of malignant tumours (of the stomach, liver, pancreas and digestive system), the treatment plan is shaped strictly on an individual basis, with complete confidentiality and in close collaboration with colleagues from other relevant specialties where this is judged necessary for the best possible outcome.
How to access this service (GESY & private)
- GESY beneficiaries: The service is provided as usual to beneficiaries of the General Healthcare System, following the standard referral procedures.
- Private care: All surgical assessments and procedures are also offered privately for non-GESY beneficiaries, overseas residents, or patients who want immediate access and flexible appointments, in a strictly protected environment.
