General Surgical Consultation

Assessment and guidance for surgical problems, from diagnosis to treatment plan.

A general surgical consultation covers the first, crucial contact and assessment of surgical problems of the digestive system and abdomen — from hernias and gallbladder conditions to specialised anorectal conditions — always guided by correct, safe and personalised advice.

Not every problem necessarily leads to surgery. Our first goal is an honest diagnosis and finding the safest solution for you.

What the consultation involves

  • A detailed history: We take the time needed to listen to your symptoms and the course of your health.
  • Clinical examination: Carried out in a strictly protected environment, with complete discretion, respect and protection of your privacy.
  • Reviewing your tests: Studying any previous medical records (imaging, blood tests, etc.) or referring you for further tests, so the diagnosis is documented accurately.

The next step

If surgery is judged necessary, the available options will be presented to you with complete transparency (with an emphasis on modern, minimally invasive techniques and advanced laser treatments), along with the benefits and recovery times, so you can make a fully informed decision.

How to access this service (GESY & private)

  • Private care: All services and consultations are also offered privately for non-GESY beneficiaries, overseas residents, or patients who prefer it, with immediate access and flexible appointments.
  • What to bring: Any previous test results (ultrasounds, CT scans, blood tests) and your ID.
